We are moving to on line voting for the 2013 Council Election, the
first opportunity to do so in a ballot since our Bye-Laws were amended
to modernise our election in this way.
E-mails will issue to all members Friday 22nd March giving details of the ballot and the candidates. The
e-mails will also give instructions and individual security codes to enable members to vote on the web.
We will issue in hard copy the equivalent documentation to those members who have not given us e-mail addresses so they can vote by postal ballot, fax or e-mail/scan if they wish.
Following receipt and validation of nominations, there will be a ballot for three vacant seats between the following 5 members:
BARKER, Patricia In Business Dublin
BURKE, Fergal In Practice Sligo
CLEARY, William In Business Nenagh
DILLON, Paul In Practice Dublin
SWEETMAN, Billy In Practice Wexford
The closing time for receipt of postal and online votes will be 1:00 pm, Wednesday 17th April.
Council has appointed Electoral Reform Services Limited (“ERS”) to conduct all aspects of this ballot, including hosting the web voting. ERS, based in London, are global leaders in running elections on behalf of memership bodies, including for other Institutes of Chartered Accountants such as ICAS and ICAEW, and other membership bodies, large and small, in the UK, Ireland and overseas.
We are confident that this new approach to our Council elections will give greater opportunity to our members at home and overseas to exercise their democratic influence on how our Institute is governed.
