Can Introduction of weekly exams be a alternative for ICAI, ICSI and other institutes to conduct exams smoothly - A White Paper

 Currently all institutes ICAI, ICSI and others are carrying out Biannual examinations spanning just little over 30 days in a year for almost over 10 lakh students combined across India and abroad. In earlier years ICAI used to conduct Sunday tests for Intermediate and foundation students for eligibility test only on passing which students could appear Intermediate or foundation or final exams. If the same is applied in current pandemic situation for conducting for eg Foundation, IPCC and Final exams every Sunday it will

provide much needed flexibility to students across all states to give exams after vaccination. The earlier the vaccination the student can appear the coming Sunday to a nearest exam center of his choice also with a subject of his choice. ICAI and other institutes by applying this examination strategy can provide much needed relief to all the students by offering the said flexibility, provide huge employment opportunity to paper setters, paper checkers, supervisors and others. The process being continuous in nature will lead to resolution of many core problems that students are facing such vaccination before exams, fear of losing an attempt and waiting of six months, anxiety amongst students of losing precious years. This weekly examination strategy is being deployed by many CPA and other professional institutes across the world successfully. The precondition for exam could be vaccination certificate so that only vaccinated students are allowed entry in the examination hall every week. ICAI had for years conducted Sunday test in earlier years for articles across India. Hope this article lightens a hope of Ray or idea for the torch bearers of all prestigious Educational Institutions and reduce the friction between the torch bearers and the students that is currently plaguing the social media. Of course this can be treated as a white paper for consultation of students for their voting before hand.

This will also provide relief to decision makers from taking all pandemic factors into account every six months as weekly exams will disperse the crowd based on vaccination. In fact crowd management will be automatically be taken care by State vaccination drives leaving Institutions to concentrate on conducting exams every week. Where in any State/district lockdowns are imposed Institutions can discontinue weekly tests till they are raised by the resp. authority leaving all other students of other States/district to appear for their exams across the country.
