INDORE: A slew of programmes would be held this year where chartered accountants of
the city will help traders and industrial associations solve their
tax-related issues and other financial matters. The decision was taken
at the round table meet organized by The Institute of Chartered
Accountant of India (ICAI) on its
premises here on Sunday.
Inspector
general of Indore zone police Vipin Maheshwari, who was the chief guest
of the occasion, said, "Mutual trust among various communities in the
society is weakening, which is resulting in corruption. In an age, when
the human values were degrading for money, CAs could play a pivotal
role."
"With
the help from CAs, traders can themselves follow the legal provisions
at the basic level and can evade financial and legal complications,"
said campaign convener Rajesh Selot.
Sushil
Sureka of Ahilya Chamber of Commerce said that amendments in tax
provisions are taking place frequently and hence it becomes important
for traders to have updated knowledge.
"The
meeting was based on theme 'CA working for society.' A guide on tax in
Hindi language could be brought out in future," said
ICAI chairman, Indore branch, Manoj P Gupta.
The meeting was attended by presidents, secretaries and office-bearers of various traders and industrial associations.
