Babu Abraham Kallivayalil, a senior Chartered Accountant from
Ernakulam, has been re-elected to the Central Council of the Institute
of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).
He is the first person from Kerala to get elected for the third consecutive term. He has won with the
second largest majority from the southern region. The term of the new council will be for three years from February 2019. He is a member of the central council of the ICAI since 2013.
ICAI is the second largest apex body of the Chartered Accountants in the world. He represents Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Puducherry. Babu was the Chairman of the board of studies of the Institute which prepares syllabus and conducts exams of one million CA students in the country.
