Another CA removed by ICAI for professional misconduct

 The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) notified the removal of a Chartered Accountant after finding him guilty of professional misconduct. The CA was

removed from the rolls of the Institute for six months.

The High Court of Karnataka has, in pursuance of Section 21(6)(c) of the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949 ordered on 29th November, 2019 that the name of Shri G. Gopala, Chartered Accountant, No. 29 Sai Krishna, 4th Cross Ward No.185, Omshakthi Temple Road, Yelechanahalli, Bengaluru be removed from the Register of Members for a period of six months after finding him guilty of professional misconduct falling within the meaning of Clauses (6), (7), (8) and (9) of Part I of Second Schedule and ‘Other Misconduct’ under Section 22 read with Section 21 of the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949.

Therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of Section 20 of the said Act read with Regulation 18 of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988, it is hereby notified that the name of Shri G. Gopala stands removed from the Register of Members for a period of six months from the date of publication of this Notification in the Gazette of India. During the aforesaid period he shall not practice as a Chartered Accountant in terms of the said order of the Hon’ble High Court of Karnataka,” the notification said
