Canada's three accounting bodies propose merger framework
The Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants, the Certified Management Accountants of Canada and the Certified General Accountants of Canada, the three major accounting bodies in the country, are proposing to merge. The merger framework includes the creation of a designation known as Chartered Professional Accountant, or CPA, and a new common certification program.
