CPA Australia’s New Zealand division today announced the launch of its Public Practice Certificate in New Zealand, which requires no fees for the Quality Assurance Review Programme.
The introduction of this Public Practice Certificate will for the first time provide an alternative option for professionals seeking Public Practice certification from a professional accounting body in the New Zealand market.
Members holding a Public Practice certificate will take part in Quality Assurance Reviews as part of maintaining a consistently high standard of quality and service to their clients.
CPA Australia New Zealand country manager, David Jenkins, said that the organisation will not charge for its Public Practice members undergoing these reviews, as part of its ongoing strategy to support New Zealand members.
“Not only are we introducing another option for a Public Practice Certification in this country to help our members capitalise on the use of their global CPA designation, but we are now making it easier for them to participate in quality assurance reviews on their practice.
“We are committed to our members in the region and enhancing the support on practice management, quality control and risk management. This move, which in some cases will save individuals and organisations several thousands of dollars, further demonstrates the value we provide to members,” he said.
Jenkins says that historically this has been a heavy cost on businesses seeking a Public Practice review.
“Before announcing the Public Practice certificate, we consulted with our members and looked at how we could best meet their needs.
“Our members welcomed the news that another Public Practice certificate would be available in the New Zealand market and many members felt high fees for ongoing assessment of quality were a burden on their businesses.
“We’re delighted to not only introduce the Public Practice certification process, but to also give members the chance to participate in our Quality Assurance Review Programme whilst reducing cost to their businesses,” he said.
Jenkins says the programme brings together professional guidance and assistance, with industry self-regulation to help ensure members comply with ethical and professional standards and maintain their CPA designation of accountability in service excellence.
“As a long-established and global designation with a large membership we are fortunate to be able to offer the programme to our members at no cost, whilst still delivering quality which is recognised worldwide.
“We are committed to helping our members achieve their full potential and build on the technical expertise and experience gained from the CPA Programmes and through hands-on business experience.”
