Duties will include but not be exclusive to the following:-
  • Provision of accounting guidance to operational accounting teams, Risk management and to Finance Managers regarding how to handle accounting issues.
  • Design, maintain and report on complex hedge accounting structures, including use of complex models (such as regression) to determine hedge effectiveness and explain hedge results to upper finance and operational management.
  • Interpret and implement new accounting pronouncements that impact trading, including disclosures
  • Coordinate the technical accounting issues with the external auditors to support Shell Trading’s accounting opinions
  • Review of fair valuation of illiquid contracts to determine if valuation reserves are needed.
  • Ensure Shell Trading accounting policy is in line with Group IFRS requirements to ensure the accuracy of Shell Trading financial statements
