Job Description
 Wipfli, LLP has an immediate opening for a Senior Accountant in our Milwaukee office.  This professional will plan and complete fieldwork for client engagements by obtaining and analyzing information and data, communicating results and formulating recommendations, and assisting in the
preparation of engagement output and management reports for financial institution clients. They will also provide assistance with special projects and analysis including planning, scheduling, and oversight of engagement completion, as well as providing training, direction, and supervision of staff.

Essential Responsibilities will include
  • Planning and scheduling engagement fieldwork with clients
  • Preparing engagement output, including financial statements, management report comments, and agreed-upon procedures reports
  • Preparing depreciation and fixed asset reports ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Respond to client inquiries within 24 hours in a positive and professional manner
  • Assist clients with accounting process issues, reconciliations, journal entries and internal controls, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Provide training, direction and supervision of staff
  • Maintain ongoing communication with engagement manager and/or partner and performance coach
  • Prepare, monitor, and control budgets and productivity within areas of accountability
  • Develop technical competency with generally accepted accounting principles, and financial services industry accounting and tax matters

Qualifications for this role will include
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • CPA or working towards the certification
  • 3 plus years of prior, related experience
  • Prior experiences to public accounting and or financial institutions
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Adobe
  • Requires strong oral and written communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively and professionally communicate with various levels of firm and clients’ management staff
  • Ability to become proficient in Caseware, depreciation processing software, tax software (ProSystems), IDEA (data extraction software), and FIRE
