ICAI seeks material to proceed against Vijay Sai

HYDERABAD: Stating that they too had launched a probe into the dealings of V Vijay Sai Reddy, the auditor for the firms belonging to YSR Congress chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy, the
Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has sought copies of the chargesheets filed against him in the Jagan assets case from the CBI court.

In its petition, the regulator of chartered accountants said that it has a committee to conduct internal probes against errant auditors. Hence, we need copies of the chargesheets of Vanpic, Ramky, Hetero and Jagati episodes, ICAI secretary T Karthikeyan said in his plea before the CBI court. The court is likely to convey its decision on Tuesday.

In a separate development, both Jagan and Vijay Sai Reddy filed petitions in the court on Monday seeking exemption from appearing in court on February 12. While Jagan cited the ongoing Parliament session, his auditor cited the ED probe as reason for the exemption plea.
