Has Twitter , Facebook and whatsapp become the new communication channels of ICAI. The news of postponement was first broken by Twitter handle of Mr Dheeraj Khandelwal at midnight of 8th and 9th morning around 12:30 am sending Social media networks like Facebook Whatsapp abuzz with the news. This left students confused on whether to believe the authenticity of the news. Almost
upto 2 am there was no sign of notification of such news on ICAIs official website. At around 2 am the official notification was posted by the Institute which they are expecting students to open on exam morning and read for themselves or end up at exam halls. With no leading newspapers carrying this news in the morning ICAI is literally expecting students to depend on some member’s Twitter handle or Facebook to break the news to students who keep their cell phones generally switched off during exam days. This puts in question the ICAI communication etiquette which otherwise keeps updating students on their registered mobile No’s. through sms on conferences and exam crash courses. This has being repeatedly happening since last many exams.
