Chairman’s Message
Dear professional colleagues,
It
was indeed a great relief for lot of corporates and the markets,
investors, and citizens of the country due to the roll back measures
announced by the Hon'ble Finance Minister in the budget 2013.
On 21st
February, I had the pleasure to represent the Thrissur Chapter at the
Interaction meeting organized by SIRC with the President,
Vice-President, Secretary & Chief Executive, The ICSI along with
chapter chairmen of southern region. The interaction also provided me an
opportunity to meet and share my views on professional matters. The
discussions were focused on improving the infrastructure of the
Chapters, creating visibility for the profession, enhancement of value
to all the stakeholders.
The
Thrissur Chapter is organizing a number of programmes for students and
members during the month of March the details of which are given
elsewhere in the newsletter and I request each one of you to participate
and enrich the deliberations. I invite suggestions and views from the
Members on matters of professional interest and topics of relevance for
which programmes and seminars can be organized by Thrissur Chapter.
I
once again urge you to create awareness about the profession of Company
Secretaries among the student community by undertaking Career Awareness
Programmes in the Schools and Colleges where you have studied. We are
also creating a database of the Members who are willing to lend their
services in connection with the organization of Career Awareness
Programmes, Student Induction Programmes and Executive Development
Programmes. You may kindly get in touch with the Thrissur Chapter or the
undersigned in order to facilitate organizing the programmes in a
meaningful manner.
I once
again express my sincere gratitude and thank all of you and look
forward to your guidance, support and encouragement in the initiatives
and activities of the Thrissur Chapter

THRISSURCHAPTER OF THE ICSI –
PROGRAMMES ORGANISED –February 2013
1. RE -LAUNCHING OF NEWSLETTER “ICSI INTERFACE”
Thrissur
chapter of the ICSI re-launched and re-named its newsletter “ICSI
INTERFACE” and is planning to publish it on monthly basis. CS Vasudevan
M, Senior member unveiled the newsletter in a Management Committee
meeting held at chapter premises.
2. CS STUDENTS’ MEETING
Thrissur chapter organized a meeting of CS students to discuss about the different issues regarding the CS Course and its training structure. CS
Anuradha Varma, Secretary addressed the gathering and she emphasized on
the and importance of legal language and answered the queries raised by
the students
3. INAUGURATION OF ORAL COACHING CLASS FOR CS FOUNDATION PROGRAMME FOR JUNE 2013 EXAMS
Chapter organized inaugural Session of Oral Coaching Class for June 2013 exams on 21st
January 2013 at Chapter premises. CS Ramachandran TM was the chief
guest. He narrated about the scope of CS Course and role of company
secretary. He further explained about the future activities for students
by the Chapter.
4. STUDY CIRCLE MEETING ON 09.02.2013
The Thrissur Chapter of ICSI organized 4th study circle meeting of the year 2013 on 9th February 2013 at chapter premises and continued the study circle meeting as “Company Law Class Room Series”.

5. PARTICIPATION OF EXTRA ORDINARY GENRAL MEETING OF THE DHANLAXMI BANK LTD
In
association with CS Student’s forum, Thrissur, Chapter arranged to
witness/visit the Extra Ordinary General Meeting of The Dhanlaxmi Bank
Ltd on 15th February 2013. It helped the students to learn the practical aspects of conducting General meetings in a listed company
6. CRICKET MATCH-INDOOR SUPER SIX CRICKET MATCH FOR MEMBERS AND STUDENTS
Thrissur Chapter of ICSI organized a Cricket match for its members and students on 24th February 2013 at Loongs Cricket Academy, Thrissur CS
Manoj Kumar and CS Suresh were co-ordinated the activities. It helped
the members and the students to interact each other and develop a
cordial relationship among them
7. ANNOUNCEMENT OF RESULTS –DECEMBER 2012 SESSION EXAMS
Thrissur
Chapter made arrangements to publish result of December 2012 exams on
25.02.2013 and arranged a special counter at chapter premises for
registration of CS Executive programme and CS Professional programme.

9. SPECIAL PROGRAMME TO FELICITATE TO NEW MEMBERS OF ICSI
5 of our students got membership during January & February 2013. Thrissur Chapter organised a programme to "felicitate new members"
on 27.02.2013 WEDNESDAY at 4.30PM at chapter premises. As a token of
our love and affection a memento presented to new members viz. CS
Gopalakrishnan, CS Sidik, CS Parameswaran, CS Anoop and CS Sindhu by CS
Vasudevan M, Practising Company Secretary, Thrissur. CS Ramachandran TM,
Chairman presided the function and vote of thanks delivered by CS

10. CAREER AWARENESS PROGRAMME
Thrissur Chapter of the ICSI organized a career awareness programme at Govt. College, Kuttanellur, Thrissur on 28th February 2013 at 2 pm at college seminar hall. CS
Krishnakumar M, Secretary of the chapter, Mr Krishnakumar Menon,
Chapter executive, Mr Shelton M Joseph, Professional student and Ms
Aruna, faculty member and Mr Thomas, Head of the Commerce dept were
presented and answered the queries raised by the students.
