Dual character of the elected representatives

Faridabad Branch felicitated Hon’able President, VP and other council members on 19^th June, 2013. As informed earlier, a memorandum containing the problems and suggestions was to be delivered to worthy President in person. Keeping in view the protocol and to maintain decorum, a mail requesting Branch Chairman, for allowing 10 minutes time for giving memorandum and

to have interaction with the President was sent on 17-06-2013(copy enclosed).

 

We were having doubts; our Branch Chairman will give us that opportunity, and we were not wrong. Keeping in view, our doubts, we sent copy of memorandum to the President and Vice President and other CC members by mail.

 

Dual character of the elected representatives surfaced in this felicitation function. By now we were proud having three elected representatives from Faridabad , one in CC and two in NIRC. Out of these three elected representatives, one from CC and another member from NIRC was present there. CC member from Faridabad is also Chairman of Committee for member in industry and NIRC member is nominated member of NICASA.

 

CC member from our city heading very important committee of ICAI, and few months back came on the social media and invited suggestions from us, for the betterment of the profession. But when the real time came, for giving suggestions, all the three elected representatives, be it Branch Chairman, be it CC member, be it NIRC member, rather helping us, rather appreciating, and rather feeling proud, that member from their own branch is going to give some suggestions to the worthy President and VP, tried to block the way, and did not call us, rather they blocked our way in the disguise of shortage of time.

 

Why we are using dual character word……...in functions, in seminars, in get together with members they boast many big things, but ground realities are altogether different. Despite our request in the open house, before the worthy President and VP, again requesting them to allow us, in the presence of these CC and NIRC representative from our own city, Branch Chairman did not call us. We can be so senseless and shameless , but we followed full decorum and shown full decency., after all it was our function and it was our President with whom we were going to discuss matters of professional interest. President and VP both, together, rarely visits any Branch..

 

Friends, this is just an example how the branches and our elected representatives are working. All the three, Branch Chairman, CC member and NIRC member were busy in flattering and buttering of the President and other dignitaries. They did every thing to please them, except raising the issues of the common members. We are thankful to our President and Vice-President who acknowledged our efforts, by calling our name many times, and discussed many points of the memorandum, sent to them by mail. We shall discuss with you the thoughts of our worthy VP and President of ICAI in our next post.
