Suggestive measures likely to shared with ICAI for improvement of GMCS and IT training.

Few suggestions likely to be shared with BOS of ICAI...

1. Code of Conduct must be developed for GMCS participants the contravention of which must be taken seriously including debar from examination – at present the students have no deterrent factor other than to compensate attendance for the days during which they were absent

2. Faculties must be given authority to recommend the students creating nuisance to take appropriate action. At present some nuisance students (especially those who are the staff/ articles of CCMs, RCMs or CAs known to CCMs/ RCMs) even threat to give negative feedback against the faculty

3. Check the background of the faculty – is he competent and relevant as opposed to appeasement and made relevant

4. Stop (completely) arrival of RCMs into the Class Room and wasting hours in their long speeches and asking the faculties to leave the class room during their ongoing speeches

5. Take test of the students in last 3 to 4 days by giving real time activities. For instance, persons from industry may be called upon to take mock interviews, mock board meetings, mock shareholders’ meetings, mock presentations and the like

6. GMCS should be only after passing final exams. Basic thrust for GMCS to enhance presentation and communication skills of the members, where our members are weak as compared to MBA. There should be uniform GMCS course designed by BOS with the help of IIM faculties with practical case studies. Faculties should be empanelled with the BOS and only the members upto 10 years be allowed , so that they can devote and get some work. There should be grading system of faculties based on students feedback, on half yearly basis. Poor performing faculties should not be allowed.. This grading system, will force faculties to improve,perform or vanish.

7. For having check on dummy certificates of GMCS...Program can be devised wherein there will be account of each GMCS student, and the student will upload his attendance on real time basis from the portal of attendance allocated to branches, using webcam. Before distributing final GMCS certificate, BOS to check the attendance any only after the verification of  required attendance , should issue GMCS certificate.
