Americans expatriates may have new headaches from IRS-AICPA


A rule requiring foreign financial institutions to identify their U.S. customers, which takes effect in 2013, could lead to new paperwork and possibly back taxes for thousands of expatriates. In some cases, people who didn't realize they owed taxes under the U.S. system will get bills for taxes that go back years.
