Step by Step Guide to view ICAI ebooks on Android Phone

Recently ICAI has taken an initiative to launch the e-books for the students so that they can have access to the study material while on the move through the use of Android smartphone. I will be giving you a step by

step guide on how to read these e-books in your Android smartphone with the help of screenshots.

Requirements:

1. Any Android Smartphone
2. Working Internet Connectivity (2g/ 3g/ WIFI)

STEP - 1

• Download the e-book reading application on your android smartphone.
• There are many e-book readers available on the Google Play Store like Moon+ Reader, Aldiko Reader, Cool Reader, etc since many of these are paid and ad supported applications. But Cool Reader is freely available on the Google Play. It has also been recommended by ICAI.

Below I have also created the QR Code for the above link. Scan it using your smartphone's QR Code Scanning Application and open the link with Google Play Application:

The application is 6.67Mb in size. Click the install button to install it in your Android Smartphone. It would appear like this in your Google Play App:

STEP - 2
After it has been installed click the Open button to open Cool Reader in your phone. The Cool Reader App would appear like this in your Smartphone:

Now Under the heading "Online Catalogs" touch the "Add" button to add Catalog for the "ICAI" E-Books:

STEP - 4

Under "Name" column write " ICAI" and under the "URL" Column write "http://www.icai.org/ebooks/"

After you have filled both the columns Click on the Green Tick button on the upper right hand side of the screen to go to the next screen.

STEP - 5

Nw you will see that the New Catalogue with the name "ICAI" has been created in the category "Online Catalogs"

Now click on the newly created catalogue "ICAI" for the next screen. And you will see something like this:

Select any of the Groups you want to study on your smartphone. I will be choosing Group-I for the this Tutorial:

Select any of the subjects you want to study. I will be choosing Business Laws, Ethics and Communications here:

STEP - 9

Now click on the book to start downloading from ICAI Servers to your smartphone:

STEP - 10

Once the ebook has been downloaded it would appear in your app with its Front Cover and you may now start reading the ebook from your smartphone by clicking on it. When you click on the ebook firstly Index will be shown, click on any topic to start reading that Topic:

• Similar process can be repeated for other Subjects also.
  

Currently ICAI has released limited ebooks only for Intermediate (IPC) Course. And limited subjects are available right now as ICAI will release other Subjects ebooks in a phased manner.

1. Accounting Group I - (2.2 MB)
2. Business Laws, Ethics and Communication Group I - (1.6 MB)
   
3. Auditing And Assurance Group II [Volume I & II] - (1.26 MB)
4. Information Technology and Strategic management Group II - (7.4 MB)

These ebooks can also be viewed on apple iphone also with the respective ebooks app available on the Apple App Store.
