Mumbai: The Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) has decided to offer a one-time rebate to all its customers—landline, broadband or cell phone — who desire to clear outstanding bills for the last 10 years.
Rebates ranging from 10% to 50% will be offered to such customers for the first time under an amnesty
scheme as a special festive offer. The scheme was declared in Mumbai on Saturday. MTNL spokesperson M G Akkalkot said, “Customers can contact the senior manager/deputy manager or further details. Since this is a limited period offer this offer customers must avail this offer immediatel.”
According to the scheme, customers who have dues pending till March 31, 2003, will get 50% rebate on their outstanding bill, while dues outstanding from April 1 2003 to March 31, 2005, will get a 40% discount. Customers who have dues pending from April 1, 2005, to March 31, 2007, will get a 30% rebate. Various slabs are being offered depending on the overdue period.
