Gurgaon Office was established in 2007 as a shared services provider of choice for the Macquarie Group and provides capabilities in areas of Finance and Technology. The Gurgaon office is an integral part of Macquarie's global service delivery strategy and has strength of 450 plus people and continues to experience rapid growth and expansion.
The finance arm, GFS (Global Finance Services) sits within the Finance Management Group and provides a range of finance services supporting Macquarie's operating areas and management through the provision of financial control, financial planning and capital management, management reporting and budgeting and divisional accounting services.
GFS is responsible for identifying opportunities to support greater operational scalability via enhanced financial controllership, Quality, process standardisation, delivering cost efficiency, best practice service excellence management and enhanced operational / financial risk control. GFS is also looking to expand its service offering beyond finance and into areas such as investment banking and other processes performed by Macquarie business groups. It's this expansion which will drive the future growth of GFS.
- Ensuring integrity and completeness of financial records.
- Preparation and review responsibilities of following work performed by the team involving accounting functions for one or more clients:
o
Month end accounting
o
Financial Control tasks
o
Balance sheet account reconciliations
o
Reporting and analysis for business units
- Budgeting and forecasting activities for fund/ business area
- Ensuring information provided to be consolidated in Macquarie's statutory financial statements is accurate
- Ensuring compliance to regulatory and statutory requirements
- Liaising with auditors (internal & external) and responding to their queries
- Leading and managing team, showing career path and doing effective appraisals
- Regularly communicating with on-shore counterparts effectively
- Managing client relationship and handle first level escalations
- Proactively seeking client feedback to further improve service level standards
- Designing and generating MIS regularly highlighting key metrics for the team and work
- Continuously innovate with focus to improve process - enhance efficiencies and add value
- Ensuring compliance with finance control standards.
- Ensuring quality consciousness in all aspects of the team
- To apply cost conscious approach towards work responsibilities handled
- Ensure that Macquarie's goals and values are demonstrated in all work the performed.
- Postgraduate/ professional accounting qualification, preferably CA or CPA
- Minimum 6-8 years of post CA qualification experience including 3+ years of people management experience
- Willingness to travel overseas
- Willingness to work in different time zones to support clients.
- A strong background of Financial Accounting and Reporting Services is essential, inclusive of public accounting firm experience (preferably Big 4).
