Vast job potential for CA students

There are hardly 2.2 lakh chartered accountants for 1.2 billion people in the country and it indicates the vast employment potential that exists for students joining chartered accountancy course.
With the removal of trade barriers, career opportunity for CA students has become global, according to K. Kumaraguru, Vice-Chairman of the Puducherry branch of Southern India Regional Council of
the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). He was speaking at a “CA career counselling programme” organised by Theivanai Ammal College for Women here.
Mr. Kumaraguru said that the ICAI had come into being in 1949 by an Act of Parliament. As of now, it had 140 branches across the country, 22 chapters outside India and an overseas office at Dubai. There were 11.90 lakh students pursuing CA course. It was wrong to assume that the CA course was difficult to crack. Anybody who was interested in business and financial and knowledge management could easily clear the course.
