Unleashing Snakes in response to bribe demand by tax officials
LUCKNOW, DEC 01, 2011: TWO farmers from northern India have come up with an innovative idea to deal with bribery demands of tax officials. The constant demands irked the farmers so that they emptied three bags filled with 40 snakes of different species in a busy tax office on Wednesday. The farmers had been running from pillar to post, to receive that tax records for their land in Naharpur village in Basti District of UP, which the tax officials had withheld for weeks and demanded bribes to release the papers.
While the 40 snakes, including four cobras, had the clerks and villagers run helter skelter, no one was bitten or injured. The police are searching for the two farmers identified as Hukkul Khan and Ramkul Khan. Mr. Ramsukh Sharma, state official of Uttar Pradesh said that the method the farmers used to protest is unacceptable. Well, surely it is but the message the common man has tried to give the babus for sure must have slithered its way to the point.

The frustration of the farmers can be understood by the way they resorted to dangerous method of unleasing snakes.
But nothing will change the corrupt government employees of this Country, unless the politicians and higher level officers change their corrupt practices.
It is surprising that UP Govt. Official stated that the practice adopted by the farmers is un-acceptable. This is the statement made in a routine manner, without bothering for difficulties faced by the public due to corrupt practices of Government employees.
Then, Is the practice adopted by the corrupt government employees acceptable?
