Anxiety of a council member for calling the members Midnight for taking credit.

 

 

 

I belong to CIRC and I am clearly hearing the bells of the forthcoming elections. I know, this year shall be flooded with the SMS, mails, calls, Happy Birthday Message, Marriage anniversary and get well soon message. The candidates feel it their up-most responsibility to show their presence in members€™ affair.

 

Last night, it was a nightmare. One of a council member from CIRC has started ringing the members€™ phone after 10.30 in the night hours. There were a number of calls from that number which is an official number of our institute. There was an anxiety in the mind of council member to tell the respective member that he /she have been appointed as observer of the exams to be held next month.

 

There were few missed calls on my number and when I picked the call at 11.00 PM , I was shocked to know the contents of the information. Like every year I have been appointed observer for the exams and there is no new in to it. It could be possible that the examination committee must have appointed the observer by their own in place of delegating the same to branch level. It could be possible because of a fact that there was allegation of favoritism/ money exchange in awarding the duties to the members. It’s a good decision if Examination Committee has taken over the power of appointment of observer.

 

But was it so urgent that the council member has forget a decency to be maintained while ringing to a lady member in the late night. On picking the phone, he also expressed his displeasure for not picking the phone early. It was really enough when his call was trailing with many calls from his associates that the particular council member wanted to inform the awarding of duties as observer. I picked the last phone around Mid Night but the calls were continued on my cell. It could also be possible that some other council member has picked the list and might have started taking the credit.

 

May I question the sense of the examination committee to share this type of information with the council members? Each and every paper from Examination Committee carried it as “CONFIDENTIAL�. If a group of people in the late night hours contacting unnecessarily for communicating the matter, where is the confidentiality.

 

It was horrifying and I request the Examination Committee to mend its way and to show some maturity and sincerity in dealing such affairs. One more decision which is going to break the confidentiality is that the committee has appointed the totaling checker over the copies checker. A list of the entire copies checker shall be delivered to him and he will choose among those. This will be enough to break the confidentiality in the exam process. But who cares?
