Job Description
The
Reference Data Technology (RDT) group provides the applications and
feeds which support the infrastructure and the instrument, market and
reference data used for trading, risk management and settlement across
the Investment Bank. RDT is in the midst of a major multi-year
initiative to create a strategic Reference Data platform that will
source, master and distribute instrument, client, trading account
and
common corporate data across the broader Wholesale Bank. Three major
multi-year programmes are in progress to implement the initiative:
Reference Data and Pricing, Wholesale Client On boarding (WCOB) and
Document Management. In addition, broad scale adoption of the new
platform is perhaps the key critical success factor for the multi-year
strategic reference data strategy initiative.
Responsibilities include :
>Support programme
managers for the major programmes by ensuring that effective Project and
Portfolio Management standards and reporting are in place with an
emphasis on financial management. The overall RDT initiative
encompasses approximately 200 projects and $60mm of new investment spend
in 2014 and includes reporting to drive and monitor the adoption of
hundreds of applications to adopt the strategic solution across 10 major
LOBs (Lines of Business) within IB, and the broader Wholesale Bank.
>Oversee time
booking, headcount management, variance analysis, scope change - give
back and asks, total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis and cost reduction
management; Act a point of contact for the financials for the 3 major
programmes.
> track overall
delivery status of the programmes via oversight of milestones, issues,
risks and dependencies; produce status reports at various levels up to
steering; produce other senior management communications; gain an
understanding of the functional deliveries sufficient to be able to
explain to external business sponsors deliverableĆ¢€™s functionality,
business benefits, issues and risks.
Qualifications
MBA/CA with 7-10 years experience in a technology organization including Project Management and/or Business Analyst experience.
Program Management Office (PMO) experience desirable
Experience of Finance and Business Management: budget planning and forecasting.
Experience of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
Strong analytical &
problem-solving skills, with good attention to detail and precision;
Ability to shift between project details and program/portfolio level
views
Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to tailor communications for senior management
Good Interpersonal and influencing skills; able to work effectively in a matrix environment with all levels of personal
Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize requests and multi-task.
Team player comfortable working in a fast-paced consulting-style, unstructured environment
Proactive and able to own end-to-end deliverables
Excellent presentation skills
Expertise with MS Office tools and leveraging them to create highly professional decks, materials for senior management
Strong skills in manipulating data for senior mgmt reporting, e.g. Excel Pivots, Access, basic data relationships, SQL
