Job Purpose:

  • The purpose of the role will be to perform key activities (as described below) supporting the Planning and Analysis (P&A) function, across all products and countries
  • The goal is to either become a part of already established team in Mumbai or migrate FP&A activities performed across various locations globally and to consolidate them in Mumbai
Overtime, the teams would:
  • Drive the standardization and improvement of activities to generate efficiency and re-engineering saves
  • Provide analysis and insights into Business results

  • Planning and Analysis is part of the Finance division and provides financial and related business information to Citi management to allow them to make informed business decisions and set key strategic goals. This includes management reporting, Budgeting, Outlook and Forecasting and preparation of analysis to support the decision making
  • Incumbent is expected to work with country, region or global teams
  • Mumbai FP&A COE is an integral and key partner of the Global FP&A team

Knowledge/Experience:

Key Responsibilities:
Performance Measurement Reporting and Analytics:
  • Analyzing, investigating and explaining key movements and trends in P&L lines
  • Preparation of monthly financial metrics and key business drivers specific to different products/functions
  • Providing financial support to Business/Functions and assist them in decision making
  • Preparation of various Reports to support the Management needs and ensuring timely adherence to deadlines
  • To provide commentaries and business insights on variance under different scenarios and time periods
  • Track and provide insight on business productivity(efficiency saves) and projects driven by business
  • To coordinate with various stakeholders to right align the headcount, dollars and business structure within reporting systems periodically
  • Preparation of monthly Management packs, review decks and getting into discussions with Finance Management, as necessary
Budgeting and Forecasting Process:
  • Working with Country Regional Managers to create and review monthly and quarterly outlook and annual financial plans, including reporting and analysis to explain changes against given baselines
Month End Oversight Activities:
  • Assist in key month end activities including interaction with the Controllers to provide oversight of completeness and accuracy of underlying management information
  • Support various teams with key Management reporting as appropriate
  • Working as part of a diverse team spread across the region, interaction with a wide range of people including Regional/Global Finance Owners
Transitions and Client Management:
  • Ensuring smooth transition of activities from various stakeholders within Mumbai COE or from onshore location
  • Drive various Process efficiencies through standardization and re-engineering of activities
  • Effective Client relationship and demand management to be able to meet the needs of various stakeholders
  • To ensure good quality, accuracy, timeliness and value addition in all the Process related activities

  • Should be willing to work afternoon shifts, 1.30 pm to 10.30 pm

  • Preparation of Balance Sheet reconciliations for numerous legal vehicles across EMEA to a high standard in line with Corporate guidelines
  • Balance Sheet Substantiation attestation at a GOC level (Liquidity and Resolution Capital Metrics)
  • Responsible for the follow up and resolution of reconciling items
  • Responsible for the accurate reporting of the status of the reconciliations owned into Citi reporting tool ‘eRecon’
  • Able to articulate own process along with its key controls. Uses evidence to support reasoning.
  • Communicating with Legal Entity Managers across multiple locations on the status of the reconciliations performed
  • Escalating any account related issues to Regional Balance Sheet Control
  • Proactive Stake Holder Management eg. Country, BSCG, GPL & GPO
  • Provides high quality updates and problem resolution over emails
  • Participates in cross functional initiatives at a Center Level
  • Takes charge of own training needs and develops training plan. Proactively discusses IDP's with span of control leader and acts on the feedback
  • Interacts effectively in team meetings, providing constructive and relevant inputs
  • Provides vocal leadership. Encourage team members and colleagues to speak up
  • Is instrumental in building trust and confidence within the team and is approachable to the team
Education:
  • Post Graduate
  • Knowledge of Citi is desirable (Preferred)
Experience:
  • Minimum of 8-10 years experience in an accounting environment.
Certifications:
  • CFA
  • CA with 7+ years of experience
  • Semi Qualified CA with 8-10 years of experience

  • Prepare regular and time-sensitive ad-hoc deliverables to the regulators and senior managements, closely working with industry and regional senior portfolio managers
  • Coordinates with Risk management, Technology, Finance to make sure the risk portfolio information contained in various reports and presentations are accurate, and make sense
