Umang Agrawal on ICAI’s Research Committee

IMMEDIATE Past Chairman of Nagpur Branch of WIRC of ICAI CA Umang V Agrawal has been nominated as a member of Research Committee of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, New Delhi for the year 2019-20. The Research Committee is a non-standing Committee of ICAI set up in 1955 with a view to undertake research activities to further improve the quality of services rendered by the profession. The primary objective of Research Committee is to undertake research in the field of accounting and other affiliated areas with a view to enhance the value of services rendered by the profession. The ICAI, through its Research Committee, has continuously been striving to provide general guidance for recording and reporting complex accounting transactions in accordance with the accounting principles laid down in accounting standards.
 
The Research Committee also conducts an annual competition, ‘ICAI Awards for Excellence in Financial Reporting’ with a view to improve the presentation of financial statements, informs a press release. Reacting on the same, CA Agrawal expressed his pleasure on being appointed as member of an important committee. He thanked the President of ICAI, CA Prafulla Chajjed and the council to allow him contribute to the profession through the activities of the committee. The committee comprises of CA Babu Abraham, Central Council Member as Chairman and chartered accountant members from different parts of the country.
