The CA Institute and the University of Madras have decided to join
hands to provide a boost to commerce and management education in the
country.
Under the proposed collaboration, CA students would be able to acquire
under-graduate and post-graduate degrees in commerce and management
from the University of Madras. Any student who has passed the
entry-level examination of the chartered accountancy course can take
admission either in B.Com or in BBA course, sources said.
Members of the CA institute who are keen to pursue a Masters in
Business Administration (MBA) from the Madras University will get
exemption from six papers of MBA course. A memorandum of understanding
(MoU) to facilitate this collaboration between CA institute and the
Madras University will be signed at Chennai on Friday.
