SURAT: Income tax (I-T) department is undertaking a survey on the
premises of four private tuition class owners in different parts of the
city. The survey began on Saturday and was on till Sunday evening at
Towlines Road, City Light, Rander and Adjani.
"Two tuition class owners have made voluntary disclosure to the tune of Rs 1.55 crore. The survey work at the other two places is going on," said AK Gupta, PRO of I-T department. The disclosure is likely to touch Rs 5 crore, an I-T official said, adding that a huge quantity of documents have been seized from the tuition classes that coach students for professional courses like CA and IIT along with other science and commerce stream courses of schools and colleges.
