Group Audit has a high profile in today's fast-changing banking environment. Focused on identifying potential risk exposure, the function offers vital insights into the adequacy of the design and the operating effectiveness of systems of internal control.
A global function operating from four hub locations (London, New York, Frankfurt and Singapore) and 30 other locations globally, Group Audit is increasingly relied upon by banking regulators to provide independent, consistent and objective assurance.

JOB SUMMARY
The role reports to the Principal Audit Manager located in Mumbai, who in turn reports to the CA COO. The business areas in scope for this role comprise the Chief Operating Office excluding Technology.
The successful candidate will work with management and staff within the COO area, support delivery of audits owned by the COO audit team and will also support colleagues within other audit teams with coverage of COO related areas as part of front to back audit reviews in a SME capacity.
ROLE SPECIFICTIONS
  • Coordinates delivery of assigned audits with limited supervision by the Principal Audit Manager and contributes to the successful delivery of risk-based audits both locally and globally within the COO area of the bank in line with Group Audit standards.
  • Translates identified exceptions into audit issues and supports agreement of these issues and clearance of the audit report with the relevant management.
  • Reviewing and tracking of open audit issues and validation of issue closure requests.
  • Pro-actively develops and maintains professional working relationships with the COO area.   
  • Executes dynamic planning through continuous monitoring of areas under responsibility. Supports the identification of emerging risks and respective adjustments to the plan.
  • Maintains business and process knowledge and seeks to keep up to date with best practice, new developments and changes in the market. Provides training and advisory services to other auditors on technical areas of expertise.
  • Providing subject matter expertise together with the team and maintain relationships with other audit teams to support integrated, efficient and comprehensive coverage of related key risks.
  • Supports the PAM in preparing senior management and Control Group briefing packs.
 CANDIDATE SPECIFICATIONS
Technical Skills: The successful candidate will have a proven track record of operating in an audit role, including leading and delivery audits and is now seeking to apply these skills within a global SME and local product capacity closely supporting the Principal Audit Manager.  
As such they will require a thorough understanding of investment banking control environment and financial services products, particularly with regards to operations, further support functions and the regulatory environment. In addition, this person will have extremely good analytical, project management and communication skills on all levels of management.
Personal Characteristics: The individual can work effectively as part of a team whilst being flexible in the way they approach their work, have strong communication skills and work effectively under pressure. He/she will be able to multi-task assignments and prioritise their workload with minimal supervision, be resilient under pressure and being responsive to ad-hoc requests from senior management.
Creative, innovative, self-motivated and delivery oriented, the candidate will also be able to demonstrate confidence and a ’can-do / will-do’ attitude. Furthermore, highest professional and ethical standards, personal gravitas and the ability to stand ground when challenged are important to the success of the role.
The successful candidate further demonstrates strong strategic / analytical thinking, capacity to respond to and support positive change, experience in delivering work under tight deadlines and continuing development technical expertise.
Appetite for international travel is necessary, as some will be required from time to time.
  • Experience:       Experience of investment banking audits with a key focus on investment banking operations and support functions. Professional credentials, including degree level education and a relevant professional qualification.
  • Knowledge and experience of financial services products, international experience, coupled with familiarisation of working within the operational requirements and regulatory environment of a global bank.  
  • An understanding of Regulatory and senior management (internal / external to Group Audit) reporting requirements is preferable.
  • Proven track record of meeting client needs in a financial services environment and proven communication and presentation skills.
