Tax payers amount are wasted by spending to renovate 2 toilets in Planning commission office at Rs.35 lakhs.  Now it shows and appears that there is no competitive bidding in government offices and we are only suffer for these type of expenses. Really it requires audit by outside agencies like chartered accountants to know more about wasteful expenditure.  Once we reduce wasteful expenditure, the tax burden will be reduced. Let icai approach government to do government department audit and help the fellow chartered accountants to carry on and also do some good work for the nation

Will ICAI approcah the government to conduct audit of state/Central governments departments
