Chief Financial Officer

This position performs high-level administrative and financial management work directing the activities of the Finance Department for the City. As the Chief Financial Officer, an employee in this class will administer, manage, and coordinate the following functions: budget, audit, accounting, financial
reporting, payroll, accounts payable, revenue collection, performance measurement, debt management, pensions, and investments.


Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, public finance, public administration or related field, Master’s Degree preferred.
Six (6) or more years of progressively responsible experience in governmental accounting and financial management, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
State of Florida Certified Public Accountant (CPA) License or Certified Government Finance Officer Certification (CGFO) is highly desirable.
Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Managerial Accountant (CMA), and Certified Governmental Financial Manager (CGFM) accreditations are also, individually and collectively, preferred.
Certification from the Federal Emergency Management Administration, National Incident Management (or be able to obtain within 6 months of hire date): IS-700, IS-800, ICS-100, ICS-200, ICS-300 and ICS-400.
