It was inspirational to listen and
interact with national hero - our CAG Shri Vinod Rai, who has fearlessly
exposed scam after scam.....
He was delivering a talk at a
seminar on " Government Accountability ", organised by Moneylife
Foundation ( run by renowned investigative journalist Sucheta Dalal ). I feel
honoured to have got the opportunity to ask
him a question and his answer left me awestruck.

I asked Shri Rai as to how will the
citizens' groups keep fighting for good governance if their candidates kept
losing elections because those in power will always claim that they have the
"mandate" of people. Here goes the excerpt of Shri Rai's answer,
straight from the heart:
" Tides have changed...You have
to be tenacious and thats the only way you will succeed. Once, twice,
thrice, four times ..the so called people who have the mandate..they are
typical "Bullies" .. they bark at you and you recoil..Well thats it
they have succeeded..but if you bark back and tell them that you can also bite that’s
where you have succeeded. "
