Role Outline/Job Summary
The
successful candidate will join Citi Research’ Global Research Center
(GRC) in Mumbai. The GRC in Mumbai is a full research office working
with Equities Research, Fixed Income Research and the Market
Quantitative Analysis team. It also handles various critical functions
such as Research Distribution, Global Data Services and Risk Management.
A. ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
The
associate will work closely with the Singapore based Analyst to support
his coverage of Singapore rig builders, shipyards and ASEAN hospital
stocks. The Associate’s main
responsibility is to support the analyst with coverage of existing
companies. The associate would be required to take ownership of the
models and help in writing sections of the report.
There
will be thematic work alongside supporting daily coverage, including
periodical products. The candidate will help prepare research
presentations and research notes for internal and external consumption.
The candidate will be required to develop, maintain and conduct analysis
on a number of industry databases. The candidate will also be required
to support earnings and work on bespoke client requests.
Skills
· Strong
accounting background; should be able to understand and implement
accounting concepts (e.g. being able to understand and model complex
transactions)
· Strong financial statement analysis skills and valuation modeling skills (DCF and Relative Valuation).
·
Ability to collect and analyse sector data based on secondary
information. Ability to build market sizing models and understand industry dynamics, key trends and their implication on companies under coverage.
· Good
data management and analysis skills and a high degree of comfort with
Excel; should be comfortable in maintaining and updating existing models
and databases.
· Good
writing skills (good at structuring the report and articulating the key
findings); ability to synthesise ideas in clear, logical, and precise
written English.
· Strong interpersonal skills for dealing with companies and overseas colleagues.
· Ability to work under pressure, with minimal supervision, and in a team environment.
· The ideal candidate will be highly detail-oriented and will possess strong organisational skills.
Qualifications
A. QUALIFICATIONS
Ideally
the candidate will hold one of CA (preferably from Big Four Accounting
Firms) or MBA from a premier academic institution, and/or management
consulting experience, with 3-4 years of relevant work-experience. The
candidate should be a pragmatic "self starter" who is prepared to learn
about various sectors - someone who can work both independently if the
analyst is traveling or as part of a team.
