TRIUMPH FOR ICAI

ICAI, Kolkata wins the 15th National Student Management Games (NSMG)
Coimbatore: The 15th National Student Management Games (NSMG) organised by All Indian Management Association (AIMA) at Coimbatore this year concluded with Institute of Chartered Accountant of India, Kolkata (ICAI) emerging as winners.
Over 1100 students from 78 B-Schools & engineering colleges participated in this edition, reaching out to more than 100,000 graduates from across the country.
At the semi finals on November 9, 80 future business leaders from 20 teams stormed their brains of which 8 teams made it to the finals held at the prestigious PSG College of Management, Coimbatore.
While Institute of Management, NIRMA University, Ahmedabad, took the second spot, Calcutta Business School, was ranked third. The winning team will take home a cash prize of Rs 80,000 and a trophy while the runners up get Rs 50,000 and the second runner up gets Rs 40,000.

The learning experience extends far beyond the four walls of the classroom. National Student Management Games provides a realistic and enjoyable experience over a unique platform for students to experience the thrill of managing business in competitive mode.
“‘The philosophy of learning by doing’ is translated into reality and the decision making skills are challenged with the dynamics of market place reality thrown in during the process,” said Dr Jitendra Das, director, Fore School of Management, Delhi.

NSMG is based on management simulation, an exercise that enables the participants to manage a real business in a simulated environment. This entails that they go through the pains and gains of running a company in a real life situation. They take strategic business decisions and see the impact through AIMA’s indigenously developed software called Chanakya.
“It is like a 2 year MBA course squeezed into 2 days. The decisions they take reflects immediately and impacts can be seen then and there,” said Vikas Gupta, deputy director, AIMA.
