As
per the directives issued by Reserve Bank of India (RBI), for
Standardisation and Enhancement of Security Features in Cheque Forms
–Migrating to CTS 2010 standards, all Banks are required to issue only CTS-2010 Standard Cheques to their customers.
The CTS-2010 standard Cheque book issued to the customers will have cheque leaves printed with words 'CTS 2010' on the left side of each of the cheque leaf.
RBI vide its circular dated September 3, 2012 has now advised Banks to withdraw non-CTS 2010 standards cheques in circulation before December 31,2012.
Customers are required to surrender existing non CTS- 2010 cheque book at their branches on or before December 31,2012 and place a request of issuance of new cheque book with CTS-2010 standards.
