A TV channel took an identity theft expert to the streets to show consumers how easy it is. He slipped an RFID card scanner (you can find them on eBay for as little as 50 bucks) into an iPad case and went to town. 

Just because you make it home from the mall/office/cinema-hall with your credit card safely in your wallet doesn't mean your bank information hasn't been stolen.
These days, thieves are able to quickly and inconspicuously scan consumers' wallets with a simple device that can read RFID codes—the chip that carries important account information on driver's licenses, IDs, passports, insurance cards and bank cards.
The worst part is there's virtually no way to protect yourself from such scanners other than investing in special wallets or credit card sleeves that block them – though one guy in the segment found out wrapping his cards in aluminum foil worked just as well.  Woh! So there is always hope!! Good luck!
