Job Description This position is a leadership role in the Global Accounts Reconciliations group within the Global Business Services team in India. The position will be responsible for leading the Balance Sheet Reconciliation and the related research and clearance processes. This role with involve engagement with senior business partners to ensure health of the balance sheet is maintained. This position will ensure that all Balance Sheet accounts open items are research and cleared in compliance to the applicable policies, ensure improvement in the key reconciliations metrics. This position will also lead Reconciliation research and clearance governance with the respective Account Owners and Market/Regional Controllership groups. This position will own, support and drive transformational initiatives via planning and execution of front end process redesign, improvement and re-engineering opportunities. This position will partner to enhance the governance and controls around the existing reconciliation research and clearance processes along with standardization. This position will involve application of project management discipline to drive initiatives and projects to enhance the reconciliation process through E2E transformation and identification of value creation opportunities. This position will also be responsible for developing and implementing growth strategies and providing thought leadership. A portion of this position is business facing which requires person to have a strong understanding of the business processes and good analytical skills. The position manages a diverse team of reconciliation related subject matter experts and is required to create, develop, train, motivate and communicate with diverse work force. This position will report to the Vice President, Global Accounts Reconciliations
Qualifications
:
- CA / CPA / ICWA / MBA with a minimum of 8 years experience or a B.Com. with a minimum of 12 years
experience.
- Must be a self starter with ability to drive change and deliver results on multiple time sensitive projects.
- Understanding of the American Express financial accounting and business processes (preferably Remittance, Chargeback and Foreign Exchange Services) and reconciliation research and clearance processes is a must.
- Proven expertise in designing and instituting analytical capability.
- Exposure in Project Management and Systems deployment for AXP processes is preferred.
- Quality black belt/Green Belt trained/certified is highly desirable.
- Transformational approach to Process efficiency and effectiveness.
- An eye for detail and an ability to set up, mistake proof and sustain processes.
- Well-developed analytical skills with the ability to understand the linkages across processes.
- Ability to think strategically, innovatively and to pursue ideas with conviction.

- Ability to build strong relationships and influence others across business partners and people at various levels in the company. Strong demonstration of customer engagement across multiple customer groups is a must.

- Capability of thinking 'Outside The Box' with a view to increase productivity and significantly reduce cost of operations and implement initiatives towards automation / Standardization of processes.
